Meet Lori Wurtzel

My family moved to Maitland to raise our children in the same neighborhood where my husband, Ben, was raised. Now our own children attend Maitland's public schools and we are heavily invested in their continued success.

I am a lifelong public servant and strong community advocate, always looking for ways to get involved and to be of service. In 2022, I was elected to Maitland City Council, where I served one term (2022-2025), and served as Vice Mayor in my final year. Since then, I have continued to serve Maitland where I am needed, serving on the Auditor Selection Committee and Canvassing Board for the City of Maitland.

As a former public school teacher, I love to learn new things and to share knowledge with others. I believe that, when representing our community, it is my responsibility to find answers and to communicate information in a way that is easy to understand. As an attorney, I value fairness and advocacy and strongly believe that the concerns of every Maitland resident must be addressed equally.

I value communication and compromise, and know that the first step to effective communication is listening to others. I have a heart for, and demonstrated success with, helping people with adverse interests to find common ground. As the Legislative Co-Chair for a statewide professional organization, I have substantial experience at all levels of government and can be a strong advocate for our local interests.

I am eager to bring my fresh perspective, experiences, and ideas to the community, to ensure that we are doing everything we can to provide a bright future to the next generation.
