INCLUSIVITY
One of my favorite things about Maitland is its rich, unique history. Our city’s early connections to Eatonville (the first incorporated African-American community in the nation) should always be honored, inspiring a spirit of collaboration with one another and with nearby communities.
It is one of my priorities to continue to promote inclusivity in the City of Maitland. There are many different - equally important - aspects of our community, and it is important for the success of our City that we work together to get the best we have to offer.
I will promote cooperation between our neighborhoods and between the Eastern and Western portions of Maitland. I will actively seek opportunities for collaboration with neighboring communities. I plan to intentionally facilitate communication within the community, to proactively share relevant information about City business with residents, and to be an accessible member of Council for any resident concerns.
I believe that it is the role of your representatives on Council to stay actively plugged into the community, to ensure that each decision that Council makes represents the interests of our residents. Further, I believe that it is in the best interest of our City to ensure that each resident, from every part of Maitland, is equally considered and heard.
